The department of Neurology at the Karolinska University Hospital is a highly specialized department treating patients suffering from all types of neurological diseases.  We primarily care for patients in the Stockholm region but we also treat patients from both within as well as outside of Sweden. We have a strong focus on research and education through an extensive collaboration with the Karolinska Institute which enables us to integrate the latest academic developments in our daily work with our patients. We have several active research groups at all levels. We aim at being a hub and knowledge centre for conditions requiring highly specialized care.

We are divided into 9 subgroups;

  • Epilepsya where we at our EMU-epilepsy monitoring unit among other things conduct VEEG- video electroencephalogram
  • Brain tumour
  • Headaches
  • Neuro diagnostics
  • Neuro inflammatory diseases
  • Neuro muscular diseases
  • Spinal cord injury rehab
  • Stroke
  • Diseases in the locomotor system where we among other things work with advanced treatment for patients suffering from Parkinson.

Job description

Working as a nurse at the Karolinska University Hospital means that you are part of a multi professional team consisting of nurses, assistant nurses, medical doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and dieticians. As a nurse you are responsible for 5-6 patients together with an assistant nurse.

We can offer positions both within acute care in our intermediate sections that are step down from ICU as well as regular neurologic care at a ward. At Neuro you will develop as a nurse and there will great opportunities to advance further in acute neurological care.

Working hours

Days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Full time position. As a registered nurse you work 38,25 hours per week.

RequirementS

  • EU registered nurse.
  • Newly graduated as well as experienced nurses are welcome to apply.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft office.

Language skills

English, minimum level B2

Swedish (minimum level B2 upon start on commencement day). Level C1 required in order to receive Swedish license to work as nurse.

Terms of employment

Full time position. As a registered nurse you work 38,25 hours per week.

Your employment will start with a 4 week introduction period.

Salary

The starting salary for a newly graduated nurse is 27 500 SEK monthly. Salary is set individually depending on your qualification and experience.

All contracts follow local and national collective agreements.
