For our Generator Module within the Technology Department we are looking for a dedicated Mechanical and Thermal Operational Engineer. The Generator module is multi skilled covering competences within mechanical design (CAD), mechanical calculation (FEM), bearing design, cooling design, test & validation and electromagnetic design and control. We aim to make integrated product development and your technical solution must minimize the lifecycle cost, taking safety, function, reliability, production, transportation, installation and service into consideration. Your job in the Direct Drive Generator department will be in the Operational team where we maintain and support our products through their lifecycle from our 0-serial production until end of service. This position will be a combination of various mechanical tasks including our air and liquid cooled systems.

What are my responsibilities? · Design and optimization of mechanical or thermal systems within our Direct Drive generator · Define Critical To Quality elements in design and implement mitigations through organization · Technical support to Procurement and Manufacturing · Technical support during installation and service phase · Specify mechanical and thermal components including test specification · Secure implementation of design changes in our production and at our suppliers · Case handling from design idea to released bill of material

What do I need to qualify for this job? · You have an educational background as Mechanical Engineer, Marine Engineer or similar · You have 3+ years of design experience in an engineering department or experience as a craftsman · You have a systematic approach to your work tasks and you thoroughly plan your work · You are driven by a true interest in mechanical design and you aim for high quality standard · You have a hands-on approach to your tasks and you are comfortable with processes within a large organization · You thrive in a multicultural environment · You are detail oriented and accurate · You possess excellent communication and English skills both orally and in writing In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
