To join us in this journey to make this happen, we are looking for a Manager, Business Development with experience of energy and power system modelling and optimization to join our Energy Business Development team.



The team creates understanding of future energy business and supports market development activities in Wärtsilä Energy Business globally by combining world-leading energy system modelling capability with energy technology, analysis market and business knowhow.



Location:



Helsinki, Finland; Turku, Finland; Vaasa, Finland.



Your Main Responsibilities Will Be

  • Development of new approaches and methods for power and energy system modelling and optimization, including models from large interconnected power systems to the modelling of Wärtsilä's customers' business cases
  • Management and development Plexos energy system techno-economic optimization competence in Wärtsilä Energy Business
  • Maintenance of up-to-date Plexos versions and licences
  • Implementation and execution of Plexos energy system models to support, for example, market development initiatives, technology understanding and customer business cases.
  • Presentation of modelling results to relevant stakeholders around the world
  • Supporting of other modellers as well as internal and external stakeholders with the modelling

Our expectations of you:



As a Business Development Manager, you should have experience in techno-economic modelling and optimization of power and energy systems. We also appreciate if you have a prior knowledge on Plexos software or sector coupling modelling. You have preferably more than 5 years of experience in working in energy industry or you have conducted research in relevant field. You should hold MSc in the field of energy, power systems or other relevant MSc level degree.

  • You are able to travel when a project demands it
