Our portfolio of significant, technically complex offshore wind farms is increasing worldwide. Therefore, we are looking for a Junior Network Engineer for the Offshore Engineering department at our global head office in Vejle, Denmark. What are my responsibilities? You will be participating in all facets of the network integration life cycle, including analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, implementation, and training. Specifically you’ll be supporting the SCADA project management team with design, configuration and testing primarily focused on network technologies, but also Voice-over-IP and TETRA communication technologies. You will take part in specifying project-specific SCADA solutions in close cooperation with the SCADA project management team and you are involved from the start of the configuration phase until final acceptance test has been performed on site. Specifically, your assignments will cover: Design, configuration and support of networks, primarily based on Cisco technologies. Design, integration and support of TETRA communication systems. Design, configuration and support of VoIP communications systems. Detailed IP Address Planning & pre-execution design documentation Take active part in acceptance tests of the SCADA system. Technical support to the project organization during installation and commissioning. Remote and on-site trouble shooting. Identify issues and bring up proposal for improving SCADA system. Knowledge sharing across the organization. Some travel activity to projects must be expected - 10-20 days annually. What do I need to qualify for this job? You have an IT related education e.g. as a data technician or engineer. Joining at a junior level within the team, your role will focus on initial planning, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving network issues remotely and system documentation. You will be responsible supporting to project management team resolving support tickets primarily focused around routing and switching. In order to qualify, you must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of layer 2 switching protocols and layer 3 principles. Furthermore you are expected to be proficient in programming in at least one language, as our processes and the future of networking technologies rely on such skills. As a person, you are an action-oriented team player, well-structured, well-documented and able to create and maintain an overview of many complex tasks at the same time. At the same time, you are good at social networking, has a positive mindset, and you possess excellent communication skills in English – both written and orally.
