Job offer description

Do you thrive on technical challenges and have what it takes to become part of an ambitious team that develops advanced proprietary multi-core Network-on-Chip IoT chipsets? Are you looking for a career where you help to make a real difference for millions of people worldwide? Then we have a unique opportunity for you!

In your new position you will be part of the Chipset Firmware Group consisting of 25 colleagues. The atmosphere is informal and humorous but at the same time extremely ambitious and we are not afraid to say that we have some of the best developers in town!

The challenge: Secure the quality of a complex proprietary embedded platform

Essentially, our challenge is to deliver the most advanced audio-enabled, wearable IoT device available, packed in a tiny package, running of a miniscule battery and living up to medical device standards.

We work on a highly specialized custom chipset and thus do not have the luxury of a platform tested by 1000s of other uses before us. We therefore rely on extensive automated stress testing to ensure that all defects in Hardware and Software are exposed.

In your new position you will develop and maintain our test automation framework, which is written in Java. You will work closely with the embedded developers to ensure that the tests they develop to run on target can be automated. You will design the automation set-up, arrange for the necessary HW and SW and do the actual test automation. Your work will be essential for the team to move forward in our continuous integration ambition by eliminating all manual tests and ensuring that automatic tests execute fast and with very high stability.

The impact of your work huge as the proprietary chipset you help developing is used in all Oticon hearing aids. We would like to highlight, that you will not conduct the tests themselves, but your focus will rather be on the development part:

• Expanding our test system with hardware (remote controlled smartphones, audio sources, switches, power supplies, signal generators, etc.) to allow an ever-increasing amount of test automation.

• Developing and maintaining automated test cases in Java and Python for regression, stress and verification

• Cooperating closely with developers on resolution of the defects expose in automatic testing

Your competencies

We are both looking for experienced developers and talented new graduates with a relevant degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering.

You can tick off most of the following competencies:

• Expertise in Java and experience with Python

• Finding creative solutions to test automation across both test equipment and embedded system

• Jenkins / TeamCity

• Revision control systems and review tools

• Possibly BLE test experience

If you have experience with Linux, Bash and C, this will be an advantage.
