Job offer description

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear 'Colruyt Group'? The lowest price? True. Pioneer in sustainability? Yep. Stable company? That too. But there is so much more: we are an important employer of IT profiles. Software developers as well. Triggered? This is your opportunity! We are looking for a few passionate colleagues to join our development community. As a Java developer, you will get to know the ins and outs of retail: you will be involved in IT projects for one of the many Colruyt Group domains. Logistics? E-commerce? Sales? Finance? Purchase? Energy? Marketing? Name it, we have it. Sometimes Agile, sometimes Waterfall or even Hybrid, depending on what the customer needs. And you have one goal in this: build applications that really matter, you can be proud of and users can easily set to work with. You will do this by means of industry standard technology and tooling. For front-end development, we use Angular (the latest version, of course); for back-end, we choose Java EE (JPA/Hibernate, EJB, REST). You will code in IntelliJ or Eclipse (your choice!) on a high-performance Windows or MacBook (your choice!). The result of your unremitting labour is picked up in our continuous integration pipeline, automated testing and quality checks included (Git, Gradle, Jenkins, Junit, Selenium, SonarQube). And it doesn't stop there: with your team, you support the entire life cycle of the applications: you build, test, debug, fix and tweak. You do whatever it takes to allow users to get the most of it. And in the development community, nothing stops you from buckling down to a next promising technology. You can highlight your skills in a hackaton or an online learning platform. You can immerse in a technology conference or exchange expertise during an internal community day. The choice is yours. You can work in Halle, Haasrode or Deinze, whatever you prefer. Flexitime and several mobility solutions (bus, bicycle, public transport, regional offices, etc.) are part of the package.

Offer:

  • Guidance – You set to work in a great, no-nonsense environment with colleagues who will help you as much as they can.
  • Own contribution - Your ideas will have all the space they need in our dynamic environment.
  • Career opportunities - Depending on your interests, capacities and expertise, you can develop and become an expert, lead dev, analyst, IT architect or an executive.
  • Attractive pay package - Throughout your career, your net wage is completed with fringe benefits (profit sharing, meal vouchers, hospitalisation and group insurance, company car with refuelling card ...).

Profile:

  • Education - Graduate, bachelor or master with IT diploma or certificate, and passionately fond of development.
  • Adaptability – You are curious and embrace the rapidly evolving IT world.
  • Creativity – You think out of the box and you love a challenge.
  • Focus on quality – You pay attention to details and at the same time to robust components and clean code.
  • Flexibility - Change means opportunities to you, and you make the extra effort whenever needed.
  • Resourceful - When necessary, you actively look for answers and you share them with the community.
  • Languages – You speak and write English fluently (at a professional level). Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an asset.
