Java Developer

Responsibilities:

• Work within Agile environment with meeting crucial deadlines;
• Participate in all phases of software development cycle from initial requirements, implementation and final quality assurance;
• Work with business users and operations team to understand their business needs and address production queries, fix issues;
• Collaborate with developers in the same team and other teams to achieve development goal requirements;
• Quickly learn and implement solutions using new technologies, based on project needs and demands.

Requirements:

• Java, UNIX/LINUX, Oracle/Sybase, Spring, Hibernate, Maven
• Agile software development practices experience, principally Scrum;
• Experience with modern engineering practices,  such as TDD, BDD, CI and Pair Programming;
• Experience with programming distributed systems and multi-threaded applications;
• Experience with communication technologies (TCP/IP, Sockets, JMS, http);
• Database usage and development including understanding the SQLs and data schema;

Preferred:

• Knowledge of securities financing/repo trading applications and usage of funding information;
• Experience with ION Market View;
• Experience with C++
• Experience with an application server (e.g. Tomcat);
• Diligent use of unit and acceptance testing;
• Experience with source code control tools (specifically Subversion);
• Knowledge of caching strategies and distributed caching;
• Experience in working with automated functional testing tools like Fitnesse and BDD like Cucumber is a plus.
