About the department
This job offers you a great opportunity to work with 12 dedicated colleagues in R&D Business Support. The department is part of Strategic R&D, a staff function to the Chief Science Officer (CSO) of Novo Nordisk, working across the global R&D organisation providing information, insights and advice to drive knowledge-based decision-making and best-in-class positioning of R&D. We provide a number of IT tools to the R&D organisation, such as MS Project, SAP BW and other systems, each of which has between 100 and 5,500 global users.
The job
You will be part of a truly dedicated project team and gain invaluable experience through various exciting tasks. Your main responsibility will be to support the roll-out of an upgraded version of Microsoft Project across the R&D organisation as well as contributing to improving the project development in R&D by ensuring that the user system requirements are securely anchored together with relevant tests in our quality management system.
You will, together with the team, focus on improving the existing business processes within the Microsoft Project system. This will require development of stakeholder relationships across all organisational levels. You will gain experience in creating guidelines and training materials, assisting in testing of system requirements, and training of users ensuring an on-going alignment between the areas. Finally, you will be challenged by different ad-hoc tasks in the upgrade process.
Qualifications
We are looking for an intern who is passionate about driving change through optimisation of IT tools. You are currently studying for your master’s degree in IT, engineering, business or other relevant field. General knowledge of MS Project, experience with implementation of IT solutions and change management is preferred. We expect candidates to be service minded, thrive in a busy environment and bring a can-do attitude. Fluency in both oral and written English, ability to manage a large volume of tasks (with supervision), sound personal judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Further, you are motivated by driving change and improvements involving many stakeholders at all levels in an organisation. You have a high level of drive, initiative and persistence, and you are results-oriented. You are analytical, structured and comfortable managing many tasks as well as interacting with stakeholders at all levels. Finally, you must have strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.
Practicalities
Qualifications: Students in their first or second year of their master studies.
Period: The internship position is a full-time position for four to six months.
Start date: 1 January 2016 alternatively 1 February 2016
