We provide individualised and tailored support to the older person, to adults, young people and children with disabilities, in their own home and in their own community.

As a much valued Home support worker, you will enable people to maintain their independence as far as possible; you will promote the development of independent living skills, whilst supporting their safety and well-being. You will join a diverse and highly motivated team. Home Support Worker

Rehab Care- South Dublin & North Wicklow 

Permanent minimum, 15 hours’ weekly

 

Job Purpose

Our CareLink services exist to provide a flexible Home Care support service to the older person and to adults, young people and children with disabilities. Our aim is to support and enable our clients to live with respect and dignity within their own home and community 

 

Minimum Education & Skills required

  • A relevant Fetac Healthcare qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Full clean driving licence is essential.
  • Experience of working with the older person and/or with people with disabilities.
  • Experience in the provision of home care services.
  • Experience of supporting and maintaining a safe and healthy environment, ensuring good practice at all times

 

 Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients in all the essential Activities of Daily Living
  • Enabling people to independently care for themselves as much as possible.
  • Assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, shopping and meal preparation
  • To ensure appropriate and timely reporting in any changes to an individual’s health and wellbeing, following the agreed protocol and Code of conduct 
  • To demonstrate good work practices, acquiring and applying practical skills in the delivery of care, responding to individual needs and choices
  • An awareness of good Infection, Protection and Control procedures and practice

 

Additional requirements

  • Full clean driving licence is essential.
  • QQI level 5 training is provided
  • To maintain at all times observing confidentiality and boundary management whilst respecting the privacy of the client
