Water Utility External Sales Engineer

Role purpose:

The Water Utility External Sales Engineer will contribute to reaching the sales growth ambition and increasing the market share in the water utility market in Scandinavia. The main objective is to apply subject matter knowledge and demonstrate technical and business insight as well as provide excellent customer service. This is done through direct interaction with customers and close cooperation with both internal sales, engineering departments and global expert teams. As part of the 2020 strategy is to develop the customer orientation, you will play an important role in realizing this challenge. You will report directly to the Sales Director and you will be part of a dynamic team within an international setting.

Responsibilities:

As Water Utility External Sales Engineer, the main responsibilities will be to:

  • Establish contact and develop new M&E consultants and end users including lobbying with local authorities with the potential to use Grundfos products and services
  • Provide product technical support to customers, consultants and contractors, ensuring specification and correct application of Grundfos’ products
  • Achieve agreed sales targets on specified projects or jobs
  • Conduct seminars for consultants and contactors including branding initiatives, media design, advertising, promotional campaigns and trade shows
  • Register all activities  and opportunities with customers in the global CRM tool according to company guidelines
  • Ensure customer master data is updated on portfolio of customers under their responsibility

Requirements:

  • You possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another technical or engineering degree relevant to the water sector or you have a commercial degree and have worked with technical sales within the industry
  • You have a proven track record of min. 3 years of experience in one or more of the following domains:
    • Applications within water utility and waste water processes
    • Pumps, Hydraulics and controls/monitoring of products
    • Project Management
    • Specialized Engineering Companies within the water utility / waste water sectors
    • Operation of water of wastewater systems
  • You are computer literate (E.g. Microsoft Office, SAP knowledge, CRM, CAD…)
  • You speak and write English at a professional level
  • You are an autonomous, structured, motivated, detail oriented team player, with excellent communication skills, passionate about selling and delivering an excellent service to your customers
