Qualifications

  • Accounting degree (Undergraduate or Masters as required for certification)
  • 5+ years work experience preferred (including public accounting)

Travel Percentage 10-25%*Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage monthly trial balance package for small-medium size affiliates
    • Work with local affiliate Finance organization to understand activities happening in affiliate
    • Prepare preliminary trial balance package including standard metrics
    • Investigate trial balance account fluctuations to understand and document drivers
    • Present trial balance package and fluctuation analysis to financial director/local controller for local sign off
    • Resolve issues identified and agreed upon during local review
  • Accounting Quality Reviews (e.g. sample audits)
    • Perform quality reviews
    • Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues
    • Deliver training as needed
  • Build Strong Working Relationships with:
    • Local Controllers and accountants for assigned affiliates
    • Other SSC functions: P2P, O2C, etc.
  • Prepare Account Reconciliations:
    • Identify appropriate reconciliation methodology based on the type of account being reconciled
    • Understands appropriate reconciliation supporting documentation
    • Create/maintain account models (templates used to define reconciliation methodology and process steps)
    • Able to work with others to gather appropriate reconciliation supporting documentation
    • Able to understand when reconciliation repository tool needs master data maintained
    • Utilize reconciliation repository tool to document account reconciliations and route for approval
  • Manual Journal Voucher Processing
    • Understands appropriate supporting documentation required for manual journal vouchers
    • Assess if journal voucher accounting and documentation submitted for entry is appropriate
    • Ability to identify and prepare a journal voucher when needed
    • Clearly communicate to requestor, reason for rejecting journal entry request
    • Develop and maintain good working relationships with local Finance organization for affiliates supported by SSC
  • Troubleshooting for:
    • Third party outsourced processes and controls
    • SAP general accounting processes
    • Research and resolve reconciliation issues
    • Research and resolve intercompany imbalances
  • Other potential responsibilities:
    • Creation and presentation of training materials as deemed appropriate
    • Ability to understand and implement new/updated accounting rules and policies as required

Special project work as it is identified*Additional Skills/Preferences

  • 5+ year of public accounting experience
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent
  • GAAP / IFRS accounting standards knowledge
  • Multi-lingual skills (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese)
  • Self-starter, high learning agility
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and experience with lean and Six Sigma
  • Ability to influence at all levels without direct authority
  • Experience working in a high production, deadline driven environment
