Southern Denmark has openings for general medical practitioners primarily for the west coast of Jutland as per 1st September 2016 Possible positions will mainly be offered on the Westcoast or in the Southern part of the region A future as a general medical practitioner in Denmark? Would you like an exciting challenge, a varied working life with a high degree of independence, flat organisational structure, good work/life balance together with the opportunity for good schools, excellent childcare facilities, easy access to the countryside and the beach? Then perhaps you should consider moving to Denmark. Become a general medical practitioner in the Region of Southern Denmark We have vacancies for experienced general medical practitioners (GP’s) who would be able to enter into partnerships with Danish doctors or take over existing practices. Medical practice in Denmark is characterised by high professional standards, excellent working conditions and very well-qualified support staff, such as nurses and secretaries. The prescribed ratio is 1.600 patients per doctor. However, some doctors have fewer patients, others have more. The work is varied whilst you will have considerable scope for professional development at the same time. Working hours are from 8:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, although one day a week the practice is open slightly longer. As it is today, it is voluntarily to participate in the emergency service/doctor on call (Lægevagten) although most of the GP’s are members of this service. Average income for a Danish GP: Practice/clinic turnover approx. DKK 1.7 million. Net turnover = DKK 0.8- 1.0 million before tax. What do we expect from you? It is an indispensable condition that you are a specialist in General Medicine, and that the Danish Health and Medicines Authority has accredited your qualification prior to your start date. Likewise, it is a condition that you would like to settle in Denmark to practice medicine. You would also need to have the skills and motivation to learn Danish quickly and be prepared to take part in a set induction programme. Special importance is whether you have experience from your own practice. We prefer candidates who have at least 1-2 years of independent practice experience after their specialization. Candidates will be prioritised according to their qualifications, experience and knowledge within general practice and within the following: medicine, surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics and psychiatrics and their linguistic & communication skills. We offer you A 14-month training and assessment position with ongoing guidance from an experienced doctor who will be your personal practice tutor. At the end of the 14-month period, you will have the option to buy into a practice or apply for a temporary position in a practice. Salary according to collective wage agreement. Intensive Danish language course, thorough induction programme and exciting professional challenge You will be attached to a medical practice from day one and enrolled in a full time intensive Danish language course for the first three months. At the end of this initial three-month period, you will have to pass a Danish language test to be able to continue your training and assessment position. If successful, you will then be enrolled for a further three-month, part-time Danish language course, after which you will gradually start working full time in a practice on the west coast of Jutland or other locations in the Region. If you subsequently need further Danish language teaching or medical specialism-specific courses, your teacher or practice tutor will ar¬ran-ge that in consultation with you. At the courses, you will meet other doctors and will therefore have the opportunity to develop a network. We hope that you will be happy living in the Region of Southern Denmark Our objective is to ensure that you and your family will become so happy living here that you will stay in Denmark and agree terms to enter into a practice partnership shortly after your 14-month training and assess¬ment position. Application and interview If you and your family have become interested in taking on this exciting challenge, wants work life balance, we would welcome an application from you as soon as possible. Please outline your reasons for applying and describe yourself and your family and not least your professional path to general practice, giving details of your experience in the above-mentioned specialism’s. Please forward your CV to: jue@workindenmark.dk Remember to attach documentation for your specialization. Your application must be written in English.
