We are looking for a colleague to our Power System team supporting our customers with integrated power system analysis and decarbonisation services aiming to reduce emissions, improve efficiency and ensure stability of the power system. We do this by combining our engine and storage assets with renewables, and by developing control concepts that optimize operations and stability as well as reduce the overall emissions and energy costs for our customers.



Responsibilities:

  • Develop control concepts for decarbonisations solutions, power plants and power systems on the full technology stack.
  • Modelling and simulations to validate the power system control concepts.
  • Modelling and simulations to ensure grid code compliance of Wärtsilä solutions.
  • Co-create developments with team members, suppliers and partners
  • Drive our Wärtsilä values and purpose

     

Requirements:

  • You hold a Master’s degree or higher in Electric power engineering with more than 5 years of relevant experience
  • You have good experience within power system control and stability
  • Ability to develop and communicate power system control concepts
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English

     

Skills/experience that are seen as a plus:

  • Coordination skills; suppliers, internal and external customers
  • Grid code requirements
  • Power plant site experience
  • Thermal based power plant processes and their control
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box and challenge conventional ways of working
  • Strategic mindset and scenario work, seeing the big picture and plan for the future
  • Analytical skills, as well as creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Planning and execution skills

     

Location is within European Time zone, in proximity to a Wärtsilä office.
