Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting and other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. WSSC is striving for harmonized one global Wärtsilä way of working worldwide with high quality, timely, effective and efficient processes. WSSC is sharing best practices and knowledge with focus on continuous development and operational excellence.
WSSC Period End Closing Services’ focus areas are general ledger accounting and closing process. We are now looking for an Expert in General Ledger Accounting and Period End Closing. This position is permanent and located in Vaasa, Finland
Your Main Responsibilities Are
- General ledger postings and period end closing adjustments, for Wärtsilä companies all around the world
- Developing the general ledger processes globally
- Acting as one of the global key users for the general ledger postings and period end closing in SAP, assisting and training end-users
- Chart of account key-user
- Leading the testing related to Period End Closing team processes in ECC transformation journey towards S/4 Hana
- Monitoring that global SAP automated closing jobs (SmartClose) are proceeding according to timetable and without errors
- Participate in monitoring and implementation of best practices and harmonized way of working
- Creating and updating the instructions, giving training for smaller and bigger groups
- Participate in further developing the automation of closing and general ledger processes using robotics software
Main Requirements In This Role Are
- Solid background and work experience in financial accounting, reporting and closing
- Knowledge and experience of SAP FI module and understanding of the end-to-end record to report process
- Advanced IT skills
- RPA skills are seen as an advantage
- Excellent communication and co-operation skills
- Structured way of working and analytical mind-set
- Goal-oriented mind-set
- Fluency in English is required
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Financial Accounting
