Within Dell EMC, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our technical assistance team in Dublin, Ireland, as well as providing telephone and email assistance to our European customers as part of the Support and Deployment Services Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the overall satisfaction of Dell Server Enterprise customers. 

  • Actively supports the customer in all aspects through to problem resolution keeping customer informed throughout life of incident.

  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting customer's servers, utilizing the tools available and resourcing necessary support staff.

  • Clearly and concisely logs and tracks details of solutions provided to resolve customer issue and maintains and updates customer database.

  • Responsible for following defined policies & procedures

  • Applies diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend solutions to correct failures. 

     

    Essential Requirements: 

     

  • Speak fluent Dutch and English

  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to think outside the box in resolving customer issues

  • Excellent knowledge of server hardware (including SCSI, RAID and I/O topology); A+ certification desired.

  • Working knowledge of storage hardware (including clustering)

  • Working knowledge of networking (including WAN topology, mixed LAN/WAN operating system environments, DNS/WINS/DHCP, firewall solutions and network load balancing)

  • Knowledge of current Server Operating systems (Windows, Linux, Esx...)

                                                                                           

    Desirable Requirements

     

  • Basic working knowledge of systems management software

  • Proven track record in maintaining and enhancing skill(s) level(s) according to future technology trends

  • Ability to work shift(s) on a rotating schedule.

  • Special consideration given to CCNA, VMWare, Microsoft certifications.
