The Lead Engineer will guide, check, review and approve the functional design documents within the Engineering Contractors organisation. You will also check the full compliance within the design phase, within the construction phase and in the hand-over phase, prior to commissioning.
You are responsible for providing technical expertise to ensure that the technical integrity and quality of the design for projects and plant changes are met and that construction is in full compliance with the design intent.You will work together with colleagues in a broad range of departments.
- You have a Msc or Bsc education level (or equivalent) preferable in Electrical engineering;
- You have at least 10 years relevant experience within an Engineering Contractor or production company in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industries;
- You can translate the scope into an engineering definition and specification in order to allow the production of designs and estimates using internal or external resources.
- You ensur that the project designs enable operation, which meets current and anticipated standards of statutory legislation and that the internal Process Safety Management (PSM) Procedures are consistently applied.
You also have:
- Thorough knowledge of Safety Systems (ESD, F&G), Control systems, Field Instrumentation and Electrical LV and HV installations;
- Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and PLC’s is an advantage;
- Knowledge of appropriate design codes and regulations;
- Experience with participation in HAZOP / SIL / LOPA sessions;
