WHAT AWAITS YOU

As a DevOps Engineer, you work on the development of products for the online video presence of a large German broadcaster. You love working with Docker and Kubernetes. You will be responsible for both the automated provisioning and the administration of the infrastructure. Scaling? Immense simultaneous accesses? You love to master big challenges.

From setting up and administering the development environments of a team of 20 people with more than 150 virtual servers to setting up and monitoring the servers to running load tests, those are challenges you like to tackle.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Education in software development or completed studies (e.g. computer science or comparable courses of studies) 
  • At least 3 years professional experience as DevOps/System Administrator
  • Experience in Linux (Ubuntu or Debian)
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Kubernetes, Puppet or Ansible)
  • Good knowledge of German and English
  • Very good communication and team skills

WHAT MAKES YOU EVEN MORE INTERESTING

  • Experience with web servers (NGINX, Apache)
  • Experience with load balancing and caching using NGINX and Varnish, HAProxy or traefik.io is an advantage
  • MySQL or PostgreSQL database administration
  • Experience with virtualization (KVM, Vagrant) 
  • Knowledge of networks (routing, NAT, firewall, VPN, IPSEC, etc.)
  • Experience in monitoring/alerting/trending (e.g. Icinga, Munin, Monit)
  • Administration of NoSQL solutions (Elasticsearch, Redis, Memcache)
  • Experience in DEB application packaging
  • Bash scripting, Python-programming knowledge advantageous
  • Experience with AWS, GCE or Azure
  • Experience with load test scenarios and troubleshooting (ab, siege, tsung, jmeter) advantageous
