We are looking for a Development & Operations Manager with a strong technical background, to lead, manage and mentor a talented software engineering team.

A Development & Operations Manager must have the technical expertise to ensure that we build compelling, customer oriented solutions using an iterative, agile, methodology. We are seeking someone who has risen through the technical ranks and enjoys the craft of building and delivering software. Success in the role requires an innovative mind, excellent people management skills, a proven track record of delivering software products, rigorous analytical skills and a passion for creating market-leading software.

The ideal candidate is far above average, wants to be surrounded by like-minded and equally-focused individuals to build the world’s best Retail Optimization software.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the whole software engineering team through the full development and delivery process in an Agile environment, leveraging state of the art engineering practices, being a DevOps culture ambassador;
  • Deliver clear vision, direction, and standards for the engineering organization and ensure their compliance;
  • Clearly communicate business goals to the engineers, keeping them front and center and ensuring they are always adding retail value, the company motto;
  • Communicate engineering tactics and progress to business stakeholders;
  • Have an eye for new, useful technologies, while being conscious of appropriate level of risk;
  • Interact with key customers, being able to present our technical roadmaps and help sales activities, when necessary;
  • Partner with technology support teams to ensure that applications maintain high quality and highly availability;
  • Influence the long-term product roadmap.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10 years of overall professional experience;
  • 5 years of hands-on development experience;
  • 5 years of management experience leading software development teams;
  • Proficiency with Agile software development practices;
  • Solid experience with HTML5, Java and Oracle database;
  • Strong team-oriented communicator with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally;
  • Ability to think from a business perspective and balance technical and business goals;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent experience;
  • Full professional proficiency in English.

This role will manage the entire company software development program, prioritizing it across teams. A strong personality is required.
