For our Global IP Legal team in the Global Legal Affairs department we are looking for a strong Commercial & IP Legal Counsel who can partner up and work closely with especially our Human Health Business Unit in realizing the “Grow a better world. As Commercial & IP Legal Counsel you will play an important role in ensuring that strategies are anchored in well-crafted and negotiated contracts and in our activities to further develop the Legal Affairs footprint in the business.

The team for you to join You will join a team of 6, 2 enthusiastic and service minded students and 4 highly skilled and motivated Commercial & IP Legal Counsel in the Global IP Legal team at Chr. Hansen’s headquarters in Hørsholm and will be reporting to Head of Global IP Legal. Additionally, we have 16 colleagues placed in Hørsholm and at local offices around the globe in the Global Legal Affairs team. What would your role look like?

Your main focus will be to protect Chr. Hansen’s intellectual property rights working with contracts, but your area of responsibility will be broad with focus on general contracting, compliance and dispute resolution.

Your primary tasks will be:

To act as the Legal Business Partner for the Global Human Health business unit Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and providing legal advice regarding R&D and commercial contracts Handling dispute resolution Providing guidance, training and coaching to the organization particularly in the IP area Providing other legal support to the Human Health business unit and other Corporate Functions Contributing to the further development of Global Legal Affairs – process optimization and contractual tools

A vital part of your road to success will be founded within your ability to establish a constructive collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the business. You will work closely together with your colleagues in Global Legal Affairs as well as the broader Compliance function including in particular the IPR & Licensing department and Global Regulatory Affairs. You can look forward to travelling approx. 10 days per year to meet colleagues and participate in external meetings.

Who are we looking for?

You hold a MA Law degree, cand.merc.jur or similar and have at least 5 years’ experience from working with contracts and IP law. As part of a high paced growth environment you will need a solid professional foundation backed by the ability to create an overview, prioritize and make the necessary decisions in order to accomplish the business objectives. Working as Commercial & IP Legal Counsel you must thrive on delivering clear and concise legal advice in a solution oriented, positive and customer centric way while drawing on your business acumen. This includes the ability to know when to stand your ground and when to compromise – in dialogue with strong stakeholder personalities in high level positions. As you will join a small and agile team, you will need strong collaboration skills, as our key to success as a team is ongoing knowledge sharing and strong teamwork. Excellent communication skills in English – written and spoken – is required.
