Information Management (IM) is part of the corporate-level Digital organisation. IM integrates processes, systems and information, supporting businesses in digitizing the core operations and enabling new digital business opportunities via technology and information. You will be part of the Cloud Center of Excellence team in IM, which is responsible for the providing the global tools, processes and guidelines when developing software in Wärtsilä. In this position, you will get to put your skills to the test by driving business goals and supporting the building of best-in-class software solutions.

 

Location:

The position is permanent and is in Vaasa or Helsinki, Finland.

 

To succeed in this position, you love writing code and solving sometimes complex business problems with the help of software. You do all of this while constantly balancing innovation, exiting guidelines and established best practices.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business and support teams to develop and deliver business applications
  • Maintain and modernize the existing applications
  • Manage the documentation and communication in own responsibility area

 

Qualifications:

As an ideal candidate, you would have:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. studies in Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on software development experience in several programming languages (e.g. Java, Javascript, Python)
  • Self-driven, analytical and goal-focused, with a 'can do' attitude 
  • Knowledge of integration technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, REST, GraphQL etc)
  • Experience in Kubernets and microservices
  • Experience in AWS and/or Azure platforms
  • Experience in Agile ways of working
  • Keen interest in new frameworks and programming languages
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Fluency in English

 

The following would also be seen as an advantage:

  • Experience in working as SCRUM Master
  • Experience in Serverless stack
  • Experience in Atlassian toolset
