Department of Clinical Medicine announces a 30 hour clinical associate professorship/clinical lectureship (previously type B) in Surgery at Køge Hospital, for appointment from 1 November 2015 to 31 August 2020.

A clinical associate professorship is a part-time position for the purposes of undertaking qualified teaching assignments, including examination of medical students at hospitals that undertakes teaching within the clinical field.
The clinical associate professor must independently organize and carry out teaching within her/his department’s or unit’s speciality and the current curriculum. Teaching includes lectures, clinical teaching and exams, supervision of research training and participation in PhD and doctoral assessment committees. The position can include development of the speciality together with other assignments. The clinical associate professor is as a rule expected to carry out research.
A clinical lectureship is a part-time position for the purposes of undertaking teaching at clinical associate professorship level but without research activity requirements.
30 hour clinical associate professorship/clinical lectureship (previously type B) is obliged to execute 30 teaching hours a year (including oral exams). Besides the teaching assignments the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences can require a clinical associate professor type B to undertake other assignments up to 100 hours a year.
Changes during the employment (period)
Distribution and type of the announced clinical associate professorships/clinical lectureships are based on the current teaching load. Substantial changes in the teaching hours might result in regulation of individual clinical associate professorships to another type or if necessary an annulment.
Teaching needs and allocation of resources will be estimated each semester. As the teaching obligation can be measured as an average over 2 years (cf. section 5, 2. Clause in agreement for clinical associate professors) some clinical associate professors can be re-adjusted.
If the hospital department employs a clinical associate research professor during the employment period the announced 30 and 15 hour clinical associate professorships can be annulled. An announced 60 hour clinical associate professorship can be converted to a 30 hour clinical associate professorship.

Required qualifications for a clinical associate professor in medicine are a medical degree, board certification plus teaching and research qualifications meaning a PhD or Doctoral degree. Teaching qualifications are considered in the assessment. The candidate is as a rule expected to carry out research.
Required qualifications for the clinical lecturer are a medical degree, board certification plus teaching qualifications at clinical associate professor level, and as a rule the candidate has had a minimum of six years’ experience within a field relevant to the position.
Salary is set in accordance with the Agreement for clinical associate professors from 29 November 2012 between the Ministry of Education, the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and the Danish Association of Junior Hospital Doctors about salaries etc. for clinical associate professors at a medical study.
A clinical associate professor/clinical lecturer type B is paid an annual honorarium of DKK 48.635 a year.
The honorarium is paid 1/12 monthly in arrears. The honorarium is pensionable at 17.1 % from which 1/3 is the employee’s own contribution. A special holiday allowance at 1.5 % is given.
