Job offer description

As a chef de partie you will oversee a section of the kitchen as part of a large team in our busy 4-star hotel. The hotel has barfood, restaurant and function menus running throughout the day. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and team playing individual who can work on their own initiative. The hotel can have seasonal trade but can easily turn over 400 covers between bar & restaurant.  We produce high quality menus focusing on local produce with a seafood emphasis and great steaks. 

We are a 61 bedroom hotel, with a solid local trade and steady wedding/ function trade.      

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within your speciality
  • Managing and training any demi-chef de parties or commis working with you
  • Helping the sous chef and head chef to develop new dishes and menus
  • Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
