Qlik wants to strengthen the Trunk Triad with a third Build Engineer. The job requires a highly organized person with excellent communication skills. You’ll be working with multiple stakeholders in spanning over several projects (in different phases). The job requires you to be very technical, to have a broad experience from both the developer world, the IT world and the Continuous integration world. You should have a sincere interest in automating the compile, test and release process.
Keeping up with the pace and being able to both take action on operations issues and at the same time balance your actions against our roadmap is also required. You must also embrace change - the build process at Qlik has changed significantly over the years and it will change again.
The Trunk Triad
The Trunk Triad provides tools, processes and methods to improve the operational performance of R&D. Configuration Management, Build Engineers and Developers work closely together to continuously improve on the Continuous Integration system and to improve on the DevOps awareness.
The Trunk team is responsible for providing the build and test execution pipeline(s) where needed. The daily challenges include keeping up with the fast pace and at the same time delivery quality.
The role:
- Develop, implement and improve the build platform
- Identify, analyze and respond to build related issues
- Assess, document and improve on build quality, its success rates and performance.
- Develop, and implement work load measurements for the platform
- Enable transparency of information and documentation
- Provide technical support on the Build Platform, and document the changes.
- Develop and implement training needs regarding builds
Competences and skills needed:
- Be an expert within Continuous Integration (and preferably Continuous Delivery and Deployment)
- Background as an experienced developer (5 years+) preferably within writing commercial software.
- Background from IT and/or a DevOps role is preferred.
- Tools experience
- Experience of build tools such as MSBuild are required
- Knowledge about artifact management is preferred (tools such as Nexus/Artifactory)
- GIT/Gerrit experience as well as Jenkins is greatly appreciated.
- Experience of modern software development methodologies such as agile is preferred
- Strong verbal and written skills, and to have the ability to train people when needed
- Deep understanding of the DevOps domain is preferred.

You have a strong sense of responsibility and good at taking initiatives and drive towards defined objectives. You have the ability to prioritize your own work, you coordinate resources and organize. Last but not least you provide a high service level, which is important since our team is a service organization.
