Role Summary

Are you looking for a new challenge or opportunity? Pramerica are seeking a qualified or nearly qualified actuary to work with our US based actuarial business partners at Prudential Financial.   You would be part of the Capabilities team within our Projections Center of Excellence. This is a position that is a position that will play a key role in the development of modeling capabilities in support of reporting, forecasting and decision making.

The Capabilities team within the Projections Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for working with multiple business partners such as Modelling COE and Finance to:

  • Drive the development of capabilities to support full financial projections (including balance sheets and income statements) for the Actuarial domestic BUs
  • Enable the Projections COE to utilize those projections to proactively develop insights and analysis to influence and drive business decisions, and,
  • Support the Deterministic Projections Capabilities (DPC) Program to ensure actuarial projection capabilities can support stress testing requirements

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Modelling COE to convert Non-VA Annuities Projection models to GGY Axis
  • Develop sensitivity-based models to perform multi-scenario projections for Annuities
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing of GGY Axis modelling solutions developed by the Modelling COE
  • Drive innovation and use of new capabilities and improvement of analytics
  • Provide accurate and insightful model validation to facilitate forecasting and decision making
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate corporate governance, controls, and documentation policies/procedures.
  • Manage a team of one
  • Be an active participant of Prudential’s actuarial community

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (or the UK Institute of Actuaries) designation (FSA/FIA), or near-FSA with at least 5 years of actuarial experience
  • Experience in model development and validation is a plus
  • Experience with GGY Axis is a plus
  • Superior technical skills (Excel, SQL, VBA)
  • Strong oral and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills
  • Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to work independently and take a leadership role in a variety of assignments
