Job Title: Accounts Payable Travel and Expense Analyst

Reports to: Accounts Payable Team Lead Query/Vendor Mgmt./Disbursements/T&E (P2P)

 

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the processing and auditing of employee expense claims for EMEA. The role will require frequent communication with corporate personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of forms, procedures, and work instructions; identifies data quality or process improvement opportunities.
  • Establishes rapport with internal customers and other teams, builds effective relationships and shares wins and successes.
  • Ensures quality in customer service levels are maintained both internally and externally.
  • Audits Expense reports to investigate potential company policy violations according to T&E policy.
  • Validates GL codes and cost centers and processing of expense reports in the ERP system.
  • Does other tasks as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Experienced with SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards Financial Software a plus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail oriented as well as exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional and customer focused with attention to detail.
  • Experience in high volume, multi-entity, multi-currency processing function.
  • Understanding and appreciation of audit, SOX requirements & VAT rules.
  • Good understanding of EMEA VAT requirements.

Education & Experience:

  • Some prior experience in Shared Services or Global Business Services preferred in an Accounts Payable function (1 to 2 years).
  • Need to be able to process large volumes of information efficiently.
  • Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
  • Fluency in English plus Spanish or French.
