Promoting safe mobility in Europe is the main purpose of the 9th edition of the Portuguese European Job Days to take place on the 29th and 30th October in Porto – Leça da Palmeira (EXPONOR).
EURES Portugal and IEFP, the Portuguese Public Employment Service, are once again organising this event, the major annual international job fair for Portuguese jobseekers wanting to move abroad. Previous editions have attracted more than 50,000 visitors. Last year, the two-day event in Lisbon was visited by more than 9900 attendees with EURES Advisers coming from 14 countries along with 44 participating employers and several mobility partners. There was also a comprehensive programme of around 80 info sessions, workshops and company presentations throughout both days.
As a jobseeker, you will be able to meet employers and/or labour market experts from several other European countries, and be interviewed on the spot and/or online by participating employers. There will also be info workshops and advice on living and working in the participating countries, as well as company presentations. You will be offered a thorough support package to your job search in Europe.
Based on our previous experience, you can expect to find employers within the Engineering and IT, Healthcare, Hotel & Catering, Customer Service and Construction sectors but other areas may be represented as well.
As a jobseeker, please remember to print and bring your entry ticket along as only visitors with a valid ticket will be allowed to enter the venue! More information on Entry Tickets.
If you’re an employer, you will be able to meet hundreds of qualified jobseekers, both experienced and graduates, actively looking for jobs within your sector. You can also benefit from the help of EURES before the event, through the screening of job applicants who might be a good match for your recruitment profiles. You’ll then have the opportunity to meet them during the event, either face-to-face or online.
Opening hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Portugal time).
We’re looking forward to your participation.

Some testimonies of Portuguese Engineers who were recruited in the previous European Job Days edition in Lisbon (October 2012):
"When I visited the European Job Days last year I could never expect to be where I am now. The opportunities were many, as well the foreign companies, especially from Norway and Denmark, countries where I was looking for an opportunity to develop my career. But all changed when I realized that NOV was looking for engineers for a new office in Lisbon. I changed the course of ideas and embraced this huge opportunity of working in NOV! The European Job Days along with NOV have plenty of new challenges for passionate engineers, and I was just in the right place at the right time!"
Design Engineer, Derrick Systems
"In October 2012, when I visited the European Job Days, I could not imagine that this would change my life in a very positive way. In NOV stand I found a good receptivity. They schedule an interview for the next day. This interview ran in such a way that now I’m part of the team of Design Engineers in the BOP Handling Department.
Design Engineer, BOP Handling
"I first came in contact with NOV at the European Job Days, Oct. 2012. During the aforementioned event, the people responsible for representing NOV have always shown to be open and caring in the questions they asked me, as well as to the questions that I posed. Ever since I started working at NOV, that same open and caring demeanor is very evident and ingrained in the company’s work culture. I have had the pleasure to work with amazing people that prize a fantastic work environment and help each other surmount any challenges they might face. It has been a privilege to be among the first group of people to start the company’s new office in Lisbon; this is a very interesting and exciting career opportunity."
