Eksote produces public social and healthcare services for around 130,000 residents of the nine municipalities in South Karelia. Customers come to us from other parts of Finland also. Eksote has around a hundred service points. Eksote’s services include outpatient care, oral healthcare, mental healthcare and substance abuse services, laboratory and imaging examination services, medicinal care, rehabilitation services, family services, social services for adults, services for the disabled, and flexible services for the elderly that are adaptable to the needs and age structure of the population. The South Karelia Central Hospital is responsible for specialised healthcare. With around 5,000 employees, Eksote is the largest employer in the region.

We are a forerunner in the integration of social and healthcare services, and in the development of related services in Finland. The operations of our rehabilitation centre, for example, are being constantly developed and have produced excellent results. This has generated great interest and the centre is frequently visited by professionals from all over Finland. Our treatment results continue to improve, and we have reduced costs significantly by reducing inpatient care and developing services provided in the home and services that support coping at home, rehabilitation, and electronic services. We emphasise timely service guidance, assessment of service and care needs, and multidisciplinary cooperation between various operators.
