GASTROENTEROLOGIST
Helgelandssykehuset HF consists of three local hospitals (located in Mo i Rana, Mosjøen and Sandnessjøen). The hospitals are organised in a trust which may be considered as “centralised-decentralised”. Mosjøen has superb surroundings and nature with mountains and fjords, close to the arctic circle. It is a small town with apr.10000 inhabitants and have a great cultural life, cafes, cinema, music scene, swimmingpool and alpine possibilities. There is a small airport and train. There is a Internal Medicine unit located at Mosjøen hospital with noninvasive cardiology, pulmonary diseases diagnostics, gastroenterology, neurological daycare, hemodialysis unit – “satelite”unit and a daycare unit. There are 17 beds at present and 4 beds in a combined intensive care/observation unit. There is a modern outpatient unit with Olympus endoscopic equipment, Eccocardiography with TEE and Bronchoscopy.
Mainly outpatient activity with endoscopies and patient consultations.
Gastro- and colonoscopies, capsule endoscopies and breath tests.
Ultrasound-guided liver biopsies, treatment of virus hepatitis and other hepatic diseases. Biologic treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases.
Work as a consultant in the general medical ward, supervising interns and residents.
Tertiary on-call-duty every 4th day (with intern and resident)
5 weeks paid holidays (after 60 years 6 weeks)
Paid leave every 8th week
Paid educational leave for congresses/courses with expenses covered 2 weeks a year.
Norwegian authorisation as a doctor
Norwegian specialist authorisation in gastroenterology, or specialist authorisation in internal medicine with a larger competence in gastroenterology.
Clinical and operative experience is preferred
Personal qualities:
Must be fluent in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. Language course is otherwise required.
