Built by friends, for friends, for fun...... Hogs Head Golf Club is Ireland's is a warm and welcoming Golf Club with a luxurious 48 bedroom Lodge and Spa built on the shores of the beautiful and serene Lough Currane in Waterville, County Kerry Ireland. 

Waterville is a small coastal village located between the Atlantic Ocean and Lough Currane on the scenic and famous Ring of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way. The Hogs Head Golf course set a mere 200 metres from the Lodge is the first in Ireland designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, which has been built on a sand-capped site on the Hogs Head peninsula and has been planted with three varieties of fescue grasses – all of which are native to the Irish coast.

The Lodge at Hogs Head has been built on the site of the former Waterville Lake Hotel which was previously the Southern Lake Hotel which formed part of the Great Southern Hotel Group. The location is steeped in traditions past of welcoming guests to this beautiful and breath-taking part of coastal Ireland. 

At the Lodge you will find a tremendous choice of ever changing and captivating natural landscapes that stretch from the range of undulating mountains in the background of Lough Currane, one of Ireland’s foremost fishing lakes, to the endless waters of the Atlantic Ocean that spill into Ballinskelligs bay beside the charm of the village of Waterville.

As an alternative to a day on the golf course, boating and fishing can also be arranged on Lough Currane and our expert Ghillie can show the best locations for fishing. 

An exciting feature at the Lodge is our Golf Simulator room which will offer a sheltered area to settle or create a few new scores on a choice of fantastic courses.

Given our truly splendid location on the Wild Atlantic Way a visit would not be complete without experiencing a guided tour whether by air or land to view the fantastic vistas on offer in the local areas. 

The Lough Currane Bar and Restaurant in the Lodge at Hogs Head is uniquely intimate, and the rustic setting offers a fairytale atmosphere in which to celebrate with family and friends. Beautifully designed 20ft high-bridge oak beams soar above the floor to ceiling glass windows. The restaurant was designed to complement the rustic charm of The Lodge and take full advantage of the panoramic views of our wonderful setting. This spacious venue boasts tall picture windows which flood the space with natural daylight and offer superb views of Lough Currane and the rolling greens of the mountains beyond.

McCarthy’s Bar in the Clubhouse is the perfect place to relax and enjoy Irish hospitality at its finest before or after a day on the golf course. For those not playing golf, but looking to enjoy beautiful views of the golf course and Irish countryside, head over to McCarthy’s for lunch or the beverage of your choice on the outdoor patio. With an array of whiskey choices, we’re sure to have something for everyone. Combining delicious food, cocktails, wine, and cigars, McCarthy’s Bar promises an atmosphere for laughs, memories, and fun.

Gail’s Spa offers a wide range of treatments for both men and women, with all of our treatments tailor-made to suit your specific needs. Facilities at Gail’s Spa include 4 treatment rooms, a hair salon, indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, separate Male and Female thermal suites (consisting of a dry sauna, a wet steam room, a hot tub, neck massager, and heated loungers) and locker rooms (with showers), and a fully equipped gym.
