PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for a General Operative for our Mushroom Farm, Scotstown, Co. Monaghan. The role involves general duties working on the production line, checking the quality of our products in line with company standards. Working as part of a team, you will be applying practical skills, working quickly, accurately and with excellent attention to detail with full concentration at all times.

REPORTING TO: Pack House Manager

KEY AREAS OF THE ROLE

  • Working on the mushroom production line, you must have a keen eye for detail and be able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Bagging product and setting up machines
  • Rejecting out-of-specification product
  • Ensuring conformance to specifications
  • Reporting and addressing issues of quality and safety
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures and adhering to the company’s Safety Statement at all times; identifying any risks/hazards or faulty equipment and reporting them to the Pack House Managers
  • Ensuring the workstation is kept in excellent order with regards to housekeeping
  • General Pack House duties
  • Other duties as assigned by the Pack House Manager

Essential Requirements

  • Flexibility to work different overtime and bank holidays
  • Manual work experience
  • Lorry License
  • Own transport as no public transport available in the area
  • Good team work skills
  • Good understanding of the English language
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Some flexibility from employees is required to meet the on-going and changing needs of the business.
