DevOps and Test Engineer

Our multinational partner company is looking for a practical Dev Ops software engineer with a solid history of writing software installers, automating software tests and working with automated build systems. The position is in an exciting international R & D project in the area of climate change and radically shifting weather paterns. The projects prime focus is the development of a state-of-the-art environmental monitoring platform within Lake George, in the state of New York, USA.

Tasks:

• assist in the packaging, testing, and hardening proof-of-concept code into reusable assets that can be deployed on premises (via containers and stand-alone installers like RPM and Deb Packages),
• deploying these applications into cloud-hosted environments (such as IBM BlueMix),
• work from high-level specification/instruction,
• responsible for low level design and implementation.

Requirements:

• experience working with distributed development teams using version control software (Git, Gitlab, Github),
• familiarity with Docker containers, CI/CD tools (Travis, Jenkins)
• Python programming skills,
• Bash scripting experience,
• ability to do agile development.

Advantage:

• iOS Devops Experience,
• familiarity with Deb and RPM software packaging using tools like Gradle.
