Product Compliance Specialist (Drinking Water)

Purpose of job

This entails not only designing and producing state-of-the art pumps and systems, but also ensuring that our processes and final products comply with product compliance obligations in the markets we serve.

As Product Compliance Specialist for Drinking Water, your job will be to ensure that our products live up to specific requirements for drinking water contact around the world. You will be part of a global team of 20 specialists working within a wide range of product compliance areas, including product safety and product environmental compliance. You will have a broad interface within Grundfos as well as to approval agencies and authorities throughout the world.

Key Activities

Together with one other colleague in the department, your primary focus will be on obtaining and maintaining the necessary drinking water approvals for our products. You act as an expert by advising on the choice of materials for products used in drinking water applications to secure compliance with national and international legislation.

You will be the driver and coordinator of the approval process together with our development engineers, where you will:

• Advise on which regulations to apply
• Govern the examination of products with regards to drinking water safety and advise on the choice of materials
• Plan the approval process for the projects and keep momentum during execution
• Manage all project specific communication with test institutes and approval authorities – drive and coordinate the approval process in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage drinking water relevant data (product and component information, records, certificates, other documents)
• Understand and implement best practices related to drinking water product compliance
• Contribute proactively to improving product approval and compliance processes and work flows
• Monitor legal requirements in various countries and maintain professional and technical knowledge

Critical knowledge and experience:

Specialist with good communication skills

At Grundfos, we recognize talent when we see it. Therefore, experience working with drinking water compliance is highly preferred, but not a requirement.

Your educational background is a bachelor’s/master’s degree or a PhD within chemical/environmental engineering, chemistry, materials science or the like. You have a good chemical understanding, which means you can combine your knowledge about the construction of products with the materials used in our products.

You have an interest in and a flair for working with technical standards and legislation. It is an advantage if you have worked with agency approvals and that you have experience working in a large organization. Your English skills are excellent verbally and in writing.

As a person you are proactive and feel responsible in doing your work. You are service minded, a good communicator that networks easily. You thrive working independently as well as in teams and in projects with many different colleagues involved. Being extrovert, you motivate your surroundings, you always deliver within deadline and follow up on on-going activities. Finally, it is important that you always have a structured and detailed approach to handling data and documentation. 

Your preferred education:

Degree from the fields of Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology or similar with good understanding of materials and some insight into hydraulics
